Got to Be NC Festival features classic cars, Harley-Davidsons and roller derby

RALEIGH – Classic cars will shine, Harleys will growl and roller derby teams will rumble during the Got to Be NC Festival May 20-22 at the State Fairgrounds.

Cars from a variety of eras and styles will be displayed in Dorton Arena from 3-8 p.m. Friday.

Harley-Davidson motorcycles will parade through the fairgrounds Saturday at 1 p.m. They will be parked along the fence at the Grandstand throughout the afternoon. The Harley parade is sponsored by Ray Price Harley-Davidson.

Carolina Rollergirls present the “Got to Be NC” Derby Expo on Saturday in Dorton Arena. Five teams will battle one another throughout the day. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and games will take place at noon, 2, 4, 6 and 8 p.m. Admission for all five games is $5. Tickets are available online at www.carolinarollergirls.com, and they’ll be for sale at the Dorton Arena box office the day of the event.

Festival hours are 9 a.m.-midnight Friday and Saturday, and 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday. Other attractions include a carnival, a Food and Wine Expo, live music and children’s activities. Festival admission and parking are free. For more information, log on to www.ncagfest.com.
