Carolina Bluegrass Battle

Picking and plucking bluegrass style. Bands with both traditional and contemporary styles will compete for bragging rights, gigs and cash.

CONTEST RULES
Competition is open to all amateur bluegrass bands from North Carolina playing traditional and contemporary bluegrass. Bands must consist of at least three members, and no band member may compete in more than one band. Competition will be limited to the first 8 (eight) bands to register. The winning band from 2018 will not be eligible to compete.

Bands will be provided with a professional sound system with mics and a direct box for an electric bass. Floor monitors will be provided. Bands will have five minutes to take the stage, tune and test the sound before your competition set of songs. Competition section not to exceed twenty minutes in length.

Judging will be scored on musicality, crowd appeal, vocal performance and instrument performance. The decision of the judges will be final.

1st Place $500 (plus a guaranteed paid job at the 2019 N.C. State Fair, PreddyFest 2019 and the Willow Oak Fest in Roxboro on June 15)
